On Wednesday and Thursday, August 16-17, 2023, lecturers from the University of Zakho participated in the Kurdistan Region Universities Championship for chess, table tennis, and swimming. The event was organized by Salahaddin University in Erbil.

After intense and challenging matches between universities, the University of Zakho achieved third place overall among all Kurdistan universities and secured second place in chess.
